Description
Completely different than I normally do,as far as style.I wanted this to feel real even though evrything is either exaggerated or story bookish.Still having problems with water, but learning as I go.That's an old inventor flying in the contraption. It used to be a dragon, but I'm tired of making those buggers.Painter7

The only thing I can comment on (and you already know about it anyway) is the water. You've remembered the reflection (and that's great) but the overall look of the water is that it's a little thick and milky. I think the water should be darker and sharper in places. The ripples are looking a little soft at the moment. But, I don't really know how to paint water, so I'll let you keep practicing. ^_^ It's a good effort though- it doesn't pull down the rest of the pic.
Keep it up Jeff!

Little tip on doing water that is so easy. Start off painting your water the very darkest color that you will use to give it depth and a solid feel...then put in your main highlights pretty solid also so that they have form/movement and do the reflection shadows like you have etc...making it all pretty solid. Your colors are great and everything....but the water got too blurry...so to keep that from happening do it all solid but then to soften use a top color with low opacity and lightly airbrush over it all...then go over it and hit it with a tiny highlight brush for little glimmers and ripples and don't soften those at all. It takes a bit of playing with this technique but it will give you awesome water.
